Basic Policy and Key Issues (Materiality)

(1) Basic sustainability policy

Based on PURPOSE, our Corporate Philosophy which states that “We will promote the evolution of manufacturing in order to contribute to a sustainable society,” ROCKY-ICHIMARU aims to achieve sustainable growth by conducting its business activities with consideration for all stakeholders.

Products and Services We will strive to provide products and services of optimal quality based on changes in the environment and customer needs.
We will strive to realize a sustainable society by developing and providing products and services that are kind to both people and the environment.
Coexistence and Co-prosperity with Business Partners We will respect our business partners and work to achieve co-existence and co-prosperity based on mutual trust from a long-term perspective.
We will comply with the laws and regulations and the spirit of each country that governs our business activities and conduct fair and free transactions.
Contribution to Local Communities We will respect the culture and traditions of each country and region involved in our business activities and contribute to the development of local communities.
Conservation of the Global Environment Recognizing that a global environment where people can live with peace of mind is a prerequisite for our business activities, we will promote initiatives to protect the global environment and address climate change.
Human Rights and the Work Environment We will understand and respect the human rights of all people and reflect them in our business activities.
We will promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I), providing equal opportunities and a comfortable working environment for all employees.
Improvement of Management Systems Management will actively work to promote sustainability by building an appropriate business portfolio, allocating the management resources necessary for promoting sustainability, and developing systems. In addition, all employees will be thoroughly informed of this policy and provided with education to foster awareness.
Compliance We recognize that compliance takes the highest priority in all aspects of business execution, and we will not only comply with applicable Japanese and overseas laws and regulations, international norms, and internal company rules, but also act fairly and sincerely based on social good sense.
Information Disclosure and Dialogue with Stakeholders We will disclose information to stakeholders in a fair and appropriate manner, and build relationships of trust through continuous dialogue.

(2) Key issues (Materiality)

Aiming for sustainable management, when ROCKY-ICHIMARU formulated its first mid-term management plan, “RI-Plan 2026,” it defined issues (materiality) that ROCKY-ICHIMARU and its stakeholders considered important, clarifying their relevance to the SDGs.

(3) Sustainability Promotion System

A. Promotion system

In April 2024, ROCKY-ICHIMARU established the Sustainability Committee, chaired by the President & CEO, as a subordinate organization of the Management Committee to promote sustainable management. The Sustainability Committee meets on a quarterly basis to plan and promote specific items to be considered. It also works closely with business divisions and departments to promote sustainability management throughout the Group.
