Collaboration・Co-creation
Contribute to customers and society.
Create new value.
ROCKY-ICHIMARU aims to contribute to customers and society by creating new customer and social value in cooperation with companies, universities, and research institutes in various industries.
In recent years, with the increasing complexity of social issues and the acceleration of technological innovation, there have been an increasing number of issues that individual companies and organizations alone cannot address. Under these circumstances, creating innovation has become an essential element for strengthening corporate competitiveness and solving social issues.
We believe that by working with companies and organizations that can complement each other’s gaps in resources and knowledge, regardless of company history or size, we can create more unique and valuable innovation.
Ideas for collaboration and co-creation
Production and assembly based on drawings provided
Arrangements for manufacturing, procurement, wiring, and assembly of parts based on drawings and parts lists provided by us or our customers
OEM/ODM production
Manufacturing, assembly, and design of products under each other’s brands
Outsourcing of after-sales service
Outsourcing of after-sales service in Japan and overseas for each other’s products
Joint development of products
Product development utilizing mutual designs, technology, and intellectual property resources
Examples of collaboration and co-creation
example 01
Development of pressure switch for tire curing press
While collecting information on equipment related to tire curing presses, we learned that a customer was experiencing quality issues with regard to pressure switches made overseas.
So we approached Company A, a supplier of pressure switches for our high-pressure hydraulic devices, regarding development, and we learned that Company A had received an inquiry from the customer about pressure switches for tire curing presses, but they were having difficulty gathering the information necessary for development.
We provided Company A with our knowledge on how pressure switches are used in tire curing presses and decided to proceed with joint development involving the customer as well.
Through repeated prototyping and field testing, we developed a pressure switch that can withstand harsh operating environments.
example 02
Development of heat insulation plate for tire curing press
Company B manufactures resin molded products.
At one point, we were approached and asked, “We’re thinking about using resin for heat insulation plates for tire curing presses. Would you be interested in helping us with development?”
So we manufactured molds for resin molding and Company B carried out the molding.
When we were prototyping, deformation occurred in the cooling process when molded at high temperatures. However, by grinding both sides and dividing it into four parts, we were able to improve the thickness accuracy and solve the issue of deformation.
example 03
Supporting production and assembly based on drawings provided
Company C is an engineering company that focuses mainly on design, but it was looking for a business that could handle everything up to manufacturing to assembly.
By undertaking the arrangements for parts manufacturing and wiring assembly work based on supplied drawings and materials, Company C is now able to consistently respond to orders from design to manufacturing and assembly.
example 04
Development of drums for tire molding machines
Company D was looking for a contractor in Japan to develop a new forming drum compatible with their new manufacturing method. We were able to develop a highly complex forming drum by combining our knowledge of past drum design and manufacturing with the development of new mechanisms to meet customer requirements.
